Bontle stuns in a new hairdo

South African media personality Bontle Modiselle has been rocking new stylish hairstyles after getting rid of her dreadlocks. The dancer and TV host recently got herself a new short weave installed from the popular hair salon Sarhap Hair Line.

However, her transition from dreadlocks to short hair was not just any decision. Bontle hinted that something major happened, which is why she decided to let go of them.

On Instagram, she said, "Gonna drop a little story time one of these days about the big chop. Quite the adjustment, but I’m enjoying it."

Check out her new hairdo.

Hairstylist speaks on hair maintanance

Qualified hairstylist Victoria from Vicky's hair salon spoke to Briefly News about the importance of taking care of one's natural hair if one will be installing a weave. Bontle Modiselle had dreadlocks and had them removed, which means she now has an afro that needs extra special TLC.

"Use hair care products that are gentle on natural African hair, particularly afros. Wash the hair twice and use quality leave-in conditioners. A lot of people are not into using blow dryers so leaving the hair to dry on it's own is also the very good, but if you are not in a hurry."

Vicky emphasised that many women prioritise their weaves more and neglect the importance of ensuring their natural hair is also up to standard.

"Once that process is done, I recommend braiding the hair. This will ensure that it is intact and is not prone to hair loss when a hair is installed. Then, use a hair net to separate the weave from the hair making sure the install is seamless."
